Spring in the Environs of Paris, Alfred Sisley, 1879. Sisley never got famous. Not like Monet. Not like Renoir. He painted alongside them, showed alongside them, struggled more than most of them. Died broke. But look at this. That little house sitting between the blossoms like it's been there forever. The ground still wet. The sky not quite sure what it wants to do. This is what spring actually looks like when nobody's trying to make it pretty. Sisley just painted what was there. Maybe that's why the world overlooked him. He never tried to impress anyone. 🎨 EcoArtLab — Frame TV & Printab
