Saint Rémy, 1889. Van Gogh is let out of the asylum with an attendant. And he sees three women picking olives. Just doing their day. Everything he loved in one scene. Workers. Olive trees. Provence. Real life happening while his own life was on pause. He makes a study on the spot. Goes back to his room and paints it again. Then a third time. Three versions of a moment he witnessed for maybe an hour. This one is the second version.
