This church is a thousand years old. It was built so it would be the first thing sailors saw coming home. Our Lady of the Cliff (not its real name). Sitting 260 feet above the water. When they built it in the 11th century, the cliff edge was 3000 feet away. Safe distance. When Monet painted it in 1882, 1300 feet. Today, 30 feet. The chalk is being eaten by the sea and it's getting faster every year. This painting will soon be history.
