Dots, Vincent Way
Three years before this he spent months around Seurat in Paris. He tried the dots. Painted a few canvases with them. But it was too controlled, too patient for him. He moved on. Fast forward to 1889. He's in the asylum at Saint Rémy. They let him walk the grounds now, never alone. And he finds these olive trees. The dots come back. But they're not Seurat's dots anymore. They're messy. They rush.
