He tried the dots. Painted a few canvases. But it was too controlled, too patient for him. He moved on. 1889. He's in the asylum. They let him walk the grounds now. The dots come back. Not Seurat's dots anymore. They're messy. They rush. They pile up on each other. Van Gogh could never do neat. It had to move. Seurat put dots in rows.
