Juliette & Rodolphe: No After

They learned together, married, then painted side by side. Juliette and Rodolphe Wytsman were an artist couple before they were a couple of artists, both chasing the Belgian side of impressionism, that soft northern light, and fields exactly like this one. Partners in the work, partners in pushing what a woman artist was allowed to be at the time. Juliette died at 58. Rodolphe followed two years later. Some couples just don't do "after."
