Humanity, Under The Rain
Hassam was 25. He lived in Boston's South End, Columbus Avenue. This intersection was a block away from his place and he was fascinated by the newly paved asphalt on his street. He said it was "very pretty when it was wet and shining." But the urban landscape is only decor. The woman and the little girl walking together under one umbrella are the painting. Hassam himself stated that his real subject was "the movements of humanity in the street." 🎨 EcoArtLab — Frame TV & Printable Art Transform your space with museum-quality digital art #ChildeHassam #RainyDayBoston #AmericanImpressionism
