Staying Alive
This garden doesn't exist anymore. Childe Hassam was an American painter who spent every summer on a tiny island off the coast of New Hampshire. His friend Celia had a garden there. Wild, dense, completely out of control. He painted it constantly. Celia died in 1894. The garden collapsed. The island took it back. This painting is from 1909. Fifteen years later. He's still painting it. Not from life. From memory. From the feeling of a place that no longer exists. 🛒 Get it here: https://art.ecoartlab.store/products/impressionist-gardens-samsung-frame-tv-art-monet-van-gogh-renoir-and-many-other
