Vincent van Gogh - Blue

Vincent didn't really do blue before the south. Holland came out brown. Paris came out grey. Then he hit Arles, walked down to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, and saw the boats lined up on the sand against that Mediterranean water. Something shifted. The blue moved into his nights, his irises, his bedroom walls, and never left. 💙
