Van Gogh Painted His Own Prison

This is the building where Van Gogh committed himself in 1889. He checked in voluntarily after the ear incident. He had a room and a studio. They let him paint. So he painted the place that was holding him. The chapel, the walls, the field right outside. Most people would look away. He turned around and faced it. The sky moves, the ground moves, only the asylum stays still. He made about 150 paintings in that one year. This was his cage and his most productive studio at the same time. 🎨 EcoArtLab — Frame TV & Printable Art Transform your space with museum-quality digital art #vangogh #sain
