After Paris under the rain, Caillebotte switched to the countryside under the sun. The big city wasn't appealing anymore. Too much noise, too much confusion. No more light reflected on wet pavement. Only smog, crowd and concrete geometric line. Even Caillebotte the modern chose to run. Paris was not to paint, not even to live anymore. A train destination when business needed it. Real life was on the hills of Colombes and the surrounding countryside.
