Gustave Caillebotte - Field by the Sea - 2 Hour Screensaver

Without the fence, Caillebotte probably never paints this view. Maybe he doesn't even notice it. The structure catches his eye first. It gives him a grid to build on. Because if all the Impressionists were ahead of their time, he was the geek of the group. The math guy. The one obsessed with geometry, grids, lines, perspective. Math on one side, paint on the other. He lived in the middle.
