Monet: Frost, for a Start
1885 was a big year for Monet. Two years into his life in Giverny, he loved the place more with every passing day. No Impressionist exhibition to prepare for, no one to answer to. Just the work he had in his head. And it started in January, with Frost at Giverny. Then came The Seine near Giverny, the first Haystack, the Manneporte at Étretat. A very productive year, and it all began in the cold.
