Impressionists - Sails

Look at any Impressionist harbor and you'll find them. White triangles on the water, leaning, drifting, catching whatever light is left. They were never just boats. A sail is the perfect thing to paint when you're chasing light. It's big, it's pale, and it changes color every ten minutes. Pink at dawn. Blue at noon. Gold by evening. Monet, Manet, Sisley, Caillebotte, they all knew it. And there's the other reason. Sails meant weekends. Regattas, picnics, a day out on the Seine with friends. Paris had just discovered leisure, and these painters were out there with it. 🛒 Get it here: https://ar
